We have named ourselved--Circle of Hope. We have set our meeting day and time for the 2nd Monday of the month at 7 PM. Our next gathering will be in Nancy Geldean's home 415 Rivers Edge Dr. in Minooka. Our current goals are to get to know each other a bit better, learn a bit more about UMW and support each other.

JOIN THE TEAM!

Rachel Circle will be hosting the 2012 Walk for Mission Fund Raiser on Saturday, April 21st   at 9:00 am. The walk will take place at the Four Rivers Environmental Center, 25055 West Walnut Lane in Channahon. Funds raised will go towards paying our units' 2012 Pledge to Mission.

We will park at the parking lot by the large pavilion. Upon arrival at Four Rivers please be sure to sign in at the registration table.  After the walk has been completed refreshments and snacks will be served.

In the event of rain, the walk will be at the Westfield Mall in Joliet.  The starting time will be moved to 10:00 am and we will begin the walk at the door next to the Tilted Kilt.  After the walk is finished we will return to the church for refreshments and snacks.

This walk is open to all who want to help Missions here and around the world.    It's two miles in all, and you will celebrate fellowship, nature, and EARTH DAY!   We invite you to solicit pledges (suggested $5), and pledge sheets and further information are available from Cherri Taylor (815-729-3472 or racermom16@aol.com).

If you are not physically able to participate, we can make arrangements for members of the youth group to walk for you.  It will still be your responsibility to obtain pledges for the walk.  If you do have a member of the youth group walk for you, 50% of your pledges will go to CUMW and 50% to the youth group.

A PERFECT PLACE TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY!

A Word from our Prez . . .

Happy Spring!

I don’t know if there is anything more welcome than the sight of spring flowers after winter passes.  These flowers remind us of God’s constant presence in our lives. This Spring Channahon UMW is celebrating new visibility, growth in our membership, and new ways to reach out in mission for women, youth, and children.

We have our web link on the church’s website that is constantly updated, we have our Newsletter which is available in the Narthex and on our web link, and now we have a blog spot that can be viewed at channahonumw.blogspot.com.  There are so many ladies working so hard to make our mission visible.  Thank You!

A new circle is forming on April 16 at 7:00 at the church.  This is a great opportunity for women to learn about UMW and see how this works in your life.

We are reaching out in mission with our first “Walk for Mission”.  UMW members will be walking and asking for donations for mission.  You can read more about this in the newsletter.

May God continue to bless the work of UMW and the members who give so much of their time to work for mission.                                                                                                                                                          Blessings,

                                                                                                 Char Musser
